About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Payroll & Finance Specialist to join the team in Adelaide. This is a varied position combining end-to-end payroll ownership with broader finance responsibilities.
Payroll will be a key focus of the role, with the successful candidate taking ownership of the payroll function as a standalone payroll specialist. You will also provide support across general finance and accounting activities, making this an opportunity for someone who enjoys working across both payroll and finance.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll
Manage the end-to-end payroll process independently
Take ownership of the payroll function and ensure employees are paid accurately and on time
Maintain accurate employee payroll records and information
Process new starters, terminations, leave, salary changes and other payroll adjustments
Manage payroll queries and resolve issues in a timely manner
Ensure payroll processes comply with relevant legislation and requirements
Maintain payroll documentation and records
Finance & Accounting
Provide support across accounts payable and accounts receivable
Complete bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations
Assist with month-end processes and reporting
Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
Assist with finance reporting and administrative requirements
Provide general support to the Finance team as required
About You To be successful in this role, you will have:
Minimum 2 years' payroll experience
Demonstrated experience managing end-to-end payroll
Confidence working independently and taking ownership of the payroll function
Previous experience in finance, accounting or accounts administration
Good understanding of payroll legislation and compliance requirements
Experience using payroll and accounting systems
Robust attention to detail and accuracy
Good organisational and time-management skills
Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
A proactive, reliable and team-focused approach
