We are committed to delivering safe, reliable and innovative transport solutions while fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement and career development.About Your Role:We are seeking an experienced and motivated Production Delivery Manager to lead the safe and efficient delivery of locomotive manufacturing and testing activities within our Spotswood Maintenance Centre operations.Reporting to the Site Manager, you will be responsible for leading production teams, driving operational performance and ensuring customer delivery commitments are achieved.
Working across manufacturing, supply chain and project functions, you will play a key role in delivering world-class outcomes across safety, quality, schedule and cost.Key Responsibilities Include:Leading and fostering a strong safety-first culture across all build and test activitiesManaging production delivery to achieve schedule, quality and customer requirementsDriving workforce planning, labour utilisation and productivity improvementsMonitoring and reporting on operational performance against key production metricsCoordinating with supply chain, procurement and warehouse teams to ensure material availabilityLeading frontline leaders and production personnel to achieve high-performance outcomesIdentifying and implementing continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiativesManaging production risks and resolving operational issues impacting deliveryBuilding strong relationships with internal stakeholders,



suppliers and project teamsSupporting cost optimisation and operational excellence initiativesAbout You:We are looking for a proactive and capable production leader who thrives in complex manufacturing environments and has a proven ability to lead teams to achieve exceptional delivery outcomes.
You will have:Demonstrated experience in a Production Manager, Operations Manager, Manufacturing Manager or similar leadership roleExperience within rail, rolling stock, heavy manufacturing, defence, mining, engineering or related industriesStrong people leadership and team development capabilitiesExperience managing production schedules, resources and operational performanceKnowledge of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement and visual management principlesStrong stakeholder management and communication skillsExperience using SAP, ERP or MRP systemsAdvanced problem-solving and decision-making abilitiesProficiency in Microsoft Office applicationsTrade, technical or tertiary qualifications relevant to manufacturing, engineering or operations management (desirable)Why Join UGL Transport?
