With offices strategically located in Australia, New Zealand, and the Middle East, we are well‐positioned to take on projects for clients around the world.About the RoleContract Resources is seeking an experienced and driven Senior Business Development Manager to join our VIC commercial team.
This senior role is critical to delivering sustainable business growth through strategic sales execution, strong stakeholder engagement, and disciplined pipeline management across commercial and industrial markets.Reporting to senior leadership, this position plays a key role in identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities through formal tenders, bids, and negotiated contracts.
The role requires a commercially astute professional with a proven track record in complex B2B environments, ideally within waste, transport, or allied industries.This role is hands‐on and varied,



with a focus on supporting business development activities, maintaining governance standards, and collaborating with internal operational and HSEQ teams to ensure effective delivery outcomes.Duties will include but not be limited toDeveloping and executing business development strategies aligned with organisational objectivesBuilding, qualifying, and managing a sales pipeline in line with governance standardsSecuring new business through formal tenders, bids, and commercial negotiationsMaintaining industry and sector business plans in line with market conditionsCollaborating with internal Business Units to pursue integrated opportunitiesManaging prospect and customer relationships throughout the life of projects and contractsEnsuring opportunities are commercially viable and executable prior to submissionSupporting structured handover of awarded work to Operations to ensure delivery readinessProviding regular reporting on sales activity and performanceMaintaining high standards of data quality and reporting within CRM systems (e.g.



Salesforce)Ensuring customer contracts and commercial documentation are accurately maintainedEnsuring compliance with delegated levels of authority and internal governance requirementsSupporting post‐award reviews and continuous improvement initiativesDemonstrating professional conduct and representing the company to a high standardEngaging Operations and HSEQ teams to ensure alignment with operational and safety requirementsRequirements & Experience NeededDemonstrable experience (5+ years) in a senior B2B business development role within commercial or industrial environmentsProven track record in securing business through formal tenders and bidsStrong experience converting complex and/or technical opportunities into profitable outcomesExperience within large, networked businesses in waste, transport, or allied industries (highly regarded)Advanced commercial acumen with the ability to negotiate terms and drive positive billed revenueStrong interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills at multiple stakeholder levelsAbility to manage time, priorities, and multiple internal and external stakeholders effectivelyIntermediate to advanced IT skills, including Microsoft Office and CRM systemsExperience using Salesforce or similar CRM platforms (preferred)Tertiary qualifications in Business or a related discipline (preferred)Current Australian driver's licenceFull Australian work rightsEmployee BenefitsThis is an excellent opportunity to become a part of a company that values work‐life balance, fosters a sociable and collaborative atmosphere, and provides opportunities for skill development and career advancement.
