Project Engineer – Mechanical / Wind Installation$90–$100 per hour + Super, depending on skills and experiencePerth-based 5:2 initially, transitioning to a 2:1 FIFO rosterMajor WA renewable energy project | Wind experience beneficial, not essentialJoin a major renewable energy project in Western Australia and support the delivery of large-scale wind infrastructure from planning and procurement through to construction and commissioning.NES Fircroft is seeking an experienced Project Engineer with a strong mechanical engineering and site delivery background.
This role would suit someone from mining, resources, infrastructure, energy or heavy industry who is looking to move into large-scale renewable energy project delivery.Direct wind experience is advantageous but not essential.
The project will utilise new installation technology, so we are particularly interested in engineers who are technically capable, adaptable, willing to learn and confident working with contractors, suppliers and multidisciplinary project teams.Salary & Benefits$90–$100 per hour + SuperRate dependent on skills and experienceInitial 5:2 Perth-based rosterTransition to a 2:1 FIFO roster during site deliveryLong-term major renewable energy projectExposure to innovative wind installation technologyFortnightly pay via NES Fircroft's contractor payroll systemDedicated NES Fircroft consultant and contractor supportOpportunity to access future contract opportunities across our extensive WA client baseAbout YouWe are looking for an experienced Project Engineer who can bring solid engineering fundamentals and practical site experience.Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related disciplineAround 5+ years' experience in Project Engineering across mining, resources, infrastructure, energy,
renewables or heavy industryStrong practical site-based construction and project delivery experienceExperience coordinating contractors, suppliers, equipment packages and multidisciplinary stakeholdersStrong communication skills, commercial awareness and a willingness to learn new installation technologyPrevious ExposurePrevious exposure to wind, heavy lifting, cranes, mechanical installation, major equipment packages or EPC/EPCM projects will be highly regarded but is not essential.The RoleThe Role Reporting to the Installation Package Manager, you will support the delivery of wind turbine installation packages and associated equipment from early planning through to construction and commissioning.Your ResponsibilitiesSupport supplier prequalification, tender evaluations and contract negotiationsAssist with the technical and commercial procurement of major installation equipmentSupport the tendering and delivery of installation contractsCoordinate with engineering, quality, project, supplier and contractor teamsMonitor manufacturing and installation progress against project schedules and milestonesSupport project deliverables across design, cost, schedule and construction planningReview technical documentation, drawings, specifications and vendor informationAssist with RFIs, technical queries and engineering actionsSupport site installation activities and help resolve technical issuesAssist with QA documentation, inspections, ITPs, ITRs and project close‐outCoordinate interfaces across mechanical, structural,
civil and electrical disciplinesSupport construction and commissioning activities through to handoverHighly Regarded ExperienceMechanical installationWind turbine or wind farm constructionHeavy lifting or crane operationsMajor equipment packagesMining infrastructureRenewable energyPower generationEPC/EPCM project deliveryConstruction and commissioningWind experience is beneficial but not essential.
