We are looking for a passionate and experienced leader to champion student wellbeing, strengthen pastoral care and build a culture where students feel safe, connected and supported to flourish.

Victory Lutheran College is seeking an exceptional educational leader to join our Primary School asDirector of Wellbeing – Primary.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader who is passionate about student wellbeing, pastoral care and creating environments where every child can flourish. Working closely with the Head of Primary and College Leadership Team, you will provide strategic leadership of wellbeing, behaviour support, inclusion and positive school culture across the Primary School, ensuring students are supported academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually.
Position Details
Fixed-term leadership appointment **********) with a protected ongoing 1.0 FTE teaching position.
0.8 FTE leadership allocation and 0.2 FTE teaching allocation.
Position of Responsibility: Category C, Level 1.
Leadership allowance commensurate with experience and expertise.

About the role
TheDirector of Wellbeing – Primaryprovides strategic leadership for student wellbeing, pastoral care, behaviour support, inclusion and positive school culture. Working collaboratively with College leaders, you will lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of wellbeing programs and practices that enable every student to flourish academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually.
You will:
Provide strategic leadership for wellbeing, pastoral care and positive school culture across the Primary School.
Lead the development, implementation and evaluation of wellbeing initiatives and programs.
Promote student wellbeing, belonging, resilience and mental health through the role of Mental Health and Wellbeing Leader.
Lead child safety practices as the Senior Child Safe Officer for the Primary School, supporting compliance,



staff capability and a culture where student safety and wellbeing are prioritised.
Use wellbeing and behavioural data to inform proactive intervention and support strategies.
Support staff in behaviour support, restorative practices and student engagement.
Develop the capacity of staff through coaching, mentoring and professional learning.
Foster strong partnerships with families, support agencies and the broader community.
Lead student transition programs across the Primary years and into Secondary School.
Support the development of Primary student leadership opportunities.
Contribute to strategic planning, school improvement and workforce development initiatives.
Model the Christian values and ethos of the College.

About you
You are a wellbeing-focused leader who:
Is passionate about supporting the wellbeing and success of every student.
Demonstrates strong leadership experience in student wellbeing, pastoral care or behaviour support.
Has experience implementing restorative practices and proactive wellbeing initiatives.
Possesses a strong understanding of child safety obligations and student wellbeing frameworks.
Demonstrates the ability to manage complex wellbeing matters with professionalism, sensitivity and sound judgement.
Can coach, mentor and support others to develop effective wellbeing and engagement practices.
Demonstrates the ability to build positive and collaborative relationships with students, families and staff.
Uses data and evidence to inform wellbeing programs and decision-making.
Is committed to fostering an inclusive,



protected and supportive school environment.
Supports the Christian ethos and values of Victory Lutheran College.

Appropriate qualifications andcurrent VIT registration(or the ability to obtain it) are required.

Child Safety and Requirements

The successful applicant will be required to hold:
Current VIT registration or Victorian Employee Working with Children Check
First Aid, CPR and Anaphylaxis qualifications (or a willingness to obtain these)
