We are seeking an outstanding educator and leader to join our Diverse Learning Team as the Gifted Education Coordinator, commencing Term 1, ****.
This whole-school middle leadership role provides a unique opportunity to lead and shape the College's bespoke enrichment model for high potential and gifted learners across Years 5-12. Grounded in student data, responsive to individual learning needs, and informed by emerging best practice in boys' gifted education, the model is designed to ensure every gifted learner is appropriately identified, challenged and supported to achieve excellence.
The successful applicant will work collaboratively with College leaders, teachers, students and families to drive a strategic and evidence-informed approach to gifted education. The role is ideally suited to an experienced teacher with knowledge and experience working with gifted students who is passionate about creating meaningful enrichment opportunities that foster academic growth, intellectual curiosity and student wellbeing.
This is a Permanent Full-Time teaching position with up to 0.8 FTE time release (subject to timetabling) and a three-year (1-point) promotional appointment for the Gifted Education Coordinator position.
Job description
Reporting to the Head of Diverse Learning, this role works closely with the Director of Learning and Innovation, Heads of Department and classroom teachers to lead the ongoing development, implementation and evaluation of the College's bespoke enrichment model for gifted and high potential learners.
Working collaboratively with staff across the College, the successful applicant will support the identification and monitoring of gifted learners across all stages and use contemporary student ability, achievement and wellbeing data to inform educational planning and enrichment opportunities. The role will involve developing learning plans alongside the Diverse Learning Team to support the academic and wellbeing needs of gifted and high potential students, while ensuring programs remain responsive to individual learner profiles and emerging best practice in boys' gifted education.
The successful applicant will provide guidance to teachers in effective differentiation,



acceleration and enrichment practices, lead cooperative planning processes and contribute to the ongoing development of the College's F Gleeson Gifted Education Program. They will be an excellent classroom practitioner with strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to fostering a culture of excellence where gifted learners are challenged, engaged and supported to achieve their full potential academically, socially and emotionally.

About You
The successful applicant will demonstrate:
A working understanding of, and commitment to, the Catholic ethos of a School in the Edmund Rice tradition.
Demonstrated understanding of appropriate behaviours and professional boundaries that reflect child safeguarding values in practice.
NESA Accreditation and approval to teach in NSW.
Demonstrated excellence as a classroom practitioner across different curriculum stages.
Strong knowledge of contemporary gifted education research, theory and practice, including evidence-based approaches to enrichment and talent development.
Experience supporting teachers to implement effective differentiation, enrichment and extension strategies.
Leadership experience, or the capacity to lead and influence others in improving outcomes for high potential and gifted learners.
Strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
The ability to build productive relationships with students, staff and families.
Experience analysing and using student ability and achievement data to inform educational planning, enrichment pathways and targeted support for gifted learners.
A commitment to continuous improvement and evidence-informed educational practice.
Knowledge of contemporary approaches to supporting the academic, social and emotional needs of gifted learners.

Highly Desirable




Qualifications or postgraduate studies in Gifted Education, Inclusive Education, Educational Leadership or a related discipline.
Experience leading enrichment, extension or high potential learner programs in schools.
Experience working collaboratively across multiple year groups and curriculum areas.
