About the Role
The Student Wellbeing Officer is responsible for delivering high‐quality pastoral care and wellbeing support services that enhance student engagement and contribute to a protected, inclusive and supportive learning environment. This role supports students, families and staff, and plays a key part in strengthening the wellbeing culture of the school.
Key responsibilities include:
Assist the Principal in delivering wellbeing and pastoral care services.
Support the development and implementation of wellbeing and pastoral care programs.
Prepare and distribute wellbeing resources for students and families.
Help create environments that promote physical, emotional, social and intellectual development.




Foster cooperation, mutual respect and cultural understanding.
Provide support or referrals (with Principal approval) during grief, personal challenges or emotional difficulties.
Communicate student concerns, successes or parental issues to the School Counsellor/Principal.

Essential Requirements
Registration to Work with Vulnerable People.
National Police Criminal History Check.
Certificate IV in Counselling (or equivalent).
Current Tasmanian driver licence.

Desirable
Experience in the education sector.
Experience supporting children, young people and families.
Awareness of issues impacting local youth.
Protective Handling Practices training.
