What you'll be doing
n
n
Lead the day-to-day and weekly operation of the packing facility, including processing, grading, packing, storage and dispatch.
n
Develop and manage production schedules to align fruit intake, operational capacity and customer orders.
n
Monitor and optimise labour efficiency, overtime, throughput and other key operational performance indicators.
n




Plan shift structures and labour requirements across a permanent and large seasonal workforce.
n
Maintain a visible, hands-on presence on the production floor, particularly during peak season.
n
Respond quickly to changes in fruit quality, labour availability, customer demand and equipment uptime.
n
Work closely with Operations, Maintenance, Grower Services, Sales and Quality teams to optimise production flow.
n
Lead a safety-first culture and maintain high standards of food safety, GMP, hygiene and housekeeping.
n
Support the recruitment, induction, training and performance management of production employees.
n
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, productivity and operational performance.

What you'll bring
n
n
Proven management experience in large-scale fresh produce processing, packing or food manufacturing.
n
Strong hands-on experience leading permanent and seasonal workforces in a fast-paced operational environment.
n
Practical knowledge of production flow, labour planning and productivity improvement.
n
Sound understanding of GMP, food safety and workplace health and safety requirements.
n
Robust leadership skills and a demonstrated ability to build capable, accountable and high-performing teams.
n
Experience with production scheduling, performance metrics and operational efficiency measures.
n
Commercial and financial capability within a large processing or packing operation.
n
Strong communication, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
n
Flexibility to work extended or irregular hours during peak seasonal periods.
n
Experience in large-scale citrus processing and packing will be highly regarded.
