Based at the Coates Cambridge branch, you'll play a key role in keeping our hire fleet protected, reliable and ready for customers. This is a hands‐on mechanical role suited to someone who enjoys variety, teamwork and taking pride in maintaining high‐performing equipment.
n
What You'll Be Doing Day To Day
n
Your typical day will focus on:
n
n
Performing preventative maintenance, servicing and overhauls on a wide range of hire equipment
n
Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults efficiently and safely
n
Completing and maintaining accurate service and repair records
n
Working proactively to minimise operational downtime
n
Ensuring all work complies with Coates safety and quality standards
n
Close collaboration with operations,
service and customer‐facing teams to support equipment availability and a high level of customer satisfaction
n
n

What You'll Bring To The Role
n
n
Relevant trade qualifications ( [e.g. Mechanical, Diesel, Plant Mechanic] )
n
Experience with:n
n
Petrol and diesel engines
n
Hydraulics and pneumatics
n
Basic electrical fault finding
n
n
Current Driver's Licence (MR or HR preferred)
n
Forklift and EWP tickets (beneficial, not essential)
n
Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic and preventative maintenance skills
n
A safety‐first mindset and a commitment to quality work
n
