About the role
n
Our long-standing relationships and deep knowledge of the insurance industry have seen us recognised as the premier Insurance Law & Litigation practice in Australia.
n
Reporting directly to the Partner you will have the opportunity to work on high-profile cases, collaborate with industry-leading professionals, and contribute to the continued success and growth of our practice.
n
Responsibilities
n
This role offers the opportunity to work on cyber matters and provide clients with practical legal advice on cyber claims.
n
n
Manage cyber incident response matters from initial triage through to resolution, working closely with clients, insurers and technical experts.
n
Provide practical legal advice on cyber incident risks, privacy and data breach obligations, including regulatory and individual notifications where required.
n
Act as a key client contact throughout the response process, coordinating stakeholders, obtaining instructions and advising on recoveries and disputes arising from incidents.
n
Advising insurers on cyber coverage issues
n
Acting as coverage and monitoring counsel on significant cyber incidents with day-to-day carriage of matter
n
Preparing briefs for Counsel to advise if necessary
n
Has litigation expertise to advise on any disputes or class actions arising from a data breach
n

About You
n
n
A tertiary qualification in Law
n
A current practising certificate in the relevant jurisdiction
n
At least 3 years' post-admission experience in cyber, financial lines or commercial litigation
n
Experience in insurance law, or exposure to the insurance sector, will be highly regarded
n
Strong critical thinking and investigative skills, with the ability to approach issues creatively and strategically
n
Excellent legal drafting skills
n
Solid file management and billing skills, with a focus on timeliness and accuracy
n
A strong client service mindset
n
The ability to build trusted relationships and work effectively with clients and key stakeholders
n
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
n
Highly organised, with the ability to manage priorities and deliver to deadlines
n
Confidence facilitating presentations and meetings with a range of stakeholders
n
A proactive mindset, with the confidence to challenge the status quo and suggest practical solutions
