ABOUT THE ROLE
n
Reporting to the OHS Manager, you will provide specialist health and safety advice and support within a large and complex healthcare environment. The role has a strong stakeholder focus, partnering with leaders, managers, Health and Safety Representatives and employees to build capability and support positive safety outcomes.
n
Key responsibilities will include:
n
n
Facilitate incident investigations, hazard identification and risk assessments, identifying root causes and appropriate controls to prevent recurrence.
n
Coach and support managers and HSRs to strengthen local OHS practices and build safety capability.
n
Provide specialist advice on OHS legislation, regulatory obligations and the practical management of workplace health and safety risks.
n




Conduct workplace audits and inspections and work with stakeholders to address identified risks and areas of non-compliance.
n
Support effective consultation through Health and Safety Committees, HSRs and other stakeholder forums.
n
Contribute to OHS projects, working groups and broader health and safety initiatives.

ABOUT YOU
n
You will be an experienced Health and Safety professional who enjoys being visible within the business, building relationships and working closely with operational stakeholders. You will bring a practical and solutions-focused approach, with the confidence to coach and influence across a diverse and complex environment.
n
You will ideally bring:
n
n
Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety or a related discipline or a Certificate IV in WHS
n
Experience in an OHS Advisor, Health & Safety Advisor or similar role.
n
Sound knowledge of Victorian OHS legislation and regulatory requirements.
n
Experience working with HSRs and formal consultation structures.
n
n
Experience within healthcare, public sector or another large and complex operational setting will be highly regarded.
