St. Joseph's Catholic Primary School, Mackay
is a co-educational P-6 primary school with a total current enrolment of 340 children.

Your Role
Our school is seeking a vibrant, efficient, and energetic person for the position of
Finance Officer
.
This is a term-time continuing position for 32 hpw commencing as soon as possible (as negotiated with the successful applicant).
The Finance Officer will apply a depth of knowledge and a broad range of skills which facilitate the financial management and administration of the school.
Duties performed include, but are not limited to:
Practising confidentiality in relation to all aspects of the role
Providing administrative support to senior management of the school where discretion and judgement are required, including: initiating and handling correspondence (which may include confidential correspondence); monitoring telephone calls; and establishing and/or maintaining working filing systems
Within a variety of routines,
methods and procedures providing significant assistance in the preparation and analysis of; financial information to trial balance; budgets; profit and loss reports; balance sheet reports; trading activity reports; cash management analysis; purchasing control procedures, prepare monthly summaries of debtors and creditors ledger transactions and reconciliations (NOTE an employee is not required to perform all duties listed to satisfy this skill descriptor)
Applying knowledge of advanced functions of computer software packages and managing data
Training staff classified at lower levels by means of personal instruction and demonstration

Mandatory Requirements
A current valid Blue Card under the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act **** (WWC Act) and valid Suitability Notice is a requirement of the position.
Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role in a safe manner.
