Job Title: Senior Cloud Architect / Cloud Engineer Job Id ******* Security Clearance: Baseline Length of Contract: 12 with 2 x 12 months extension possibility The role closes on 24/09/2026 Location: ACT (Remote working arrangements may be considered) Key duties and responsibilities: Develop enterprise level cloud platform architectures for MS Azure and M365; Develop high level solution architectures for cloud-based systems; Develop detailed architecture guidance for cloud engineers; Provide impact analysis of user/stakeholder requirements; Ensure that the enterprise and system solutions maintain adherence to whole-of-government standards; Provide technical guidance and input into the design and build of cloud-based systems; Liaise with a cross-functional teams including business owners, scrum masters, business analysts, developers, enterprise architects testers to produce solutions in accordance with stakeholder requirements and project objectives; Liaise with the department's Service Experience team to ensure architectural decisions incorporate user experience considerations Liaise with ICT Engagement and Enterprise Architecture to ensure alignment to target architectures and technology.
Provide expertise and assistance in platform automation - testing, continuous integration and deployment Promote key enterprise architecture principles as applicable to cloud platforms - re-use before buy/build, configure over customise, open data/access over siloed functionality Promote and provide assistance to ensure solutions align with the DTA's Digital Service Standard Be strategic, a leader and influencer.

Essential Criteria: Cloud experience: Demonstrated experience in cloud-based solution implementation with technologies including: Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure Logic Apps, Azure SQL, Azure Service Bus and Azure API Management Azure DevOps for code development, management,
repositories, Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD deployments Microsoft Entra ID, Azure Key Vault, Azure Monitor and Application Insights Integrating cloud-based systems with third-party systems, including Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM Azure networking, security and identity management capabilities including Virtual Networks, Private Endpoints and Role Based Access Control Cultural fit: Ability to work with geographically dispersed teams Ability to work with technical and non-technical staff at all levels.
Ability to collaborate and mentor team members to promote team harmony Agile: Experience working with Agile Multi-disciplinary teams to deliver secure, user friendly and reliable solutions that meet stakeholder, citizen, and business expectations.
Ability to pragmatically change direction and scope as current information is discovered and challenges or opportunities present themselves Technical Skills: Demonstrated experience 5yrs+ implementing and managing cloud systems and technologies.
The Cloud Architect/Engineer will: Liaise with cross-functional teams to develop and manage enterprise and application-level architectures for MS-Azure.
Provide impact analysis and technical guidance in design and development of project work aligned with WoG Standards Desirable Criteria: Demonstrated track record of technical leadership across project and operational tasks Demonstrated experience and understanding of cloud-based technologies and architectures Demonstrated experience in application and integration,
or infrastructure platform architecture.
Minimum 3 years' experience designing and documenting architectures for large, complex enterprise systems.
- Experience with AWS and/or GCP is desirable but not essential.

In addition to technology components, solution architecture encompasses changes to service, process, organisation, and operating models.
The provision of comprehensive guidance on the development of, and modifications to, solution components to ensure that they take account of relevant architectures, strategies, policies, standards and practices (including security) and that existing and planned solution components remain compatible.
ARCH Level 5: Leads the development of solution architectures in specific business, infrastructure or functional areas.
Ensures that appropriate tools and methods are available, understood and employed in architecture development.
Within a change programme, leads the preparation of technical plans and, in liaison with business assurance and project staff, ensures that appropriate technical resources are made available.
Provides advice on technical aspects of solution development and integration (including requests for changes, deviations from specifications, etc.) and ensures that relevant technical strategies, policies, standards and practices (including security) are applied correctly.
