Director People Culture | Strategic + Hands-On Leadership Role Shape and build a contemporary, best-practice P C function Integral member of the Leadership Team with breadth influence This role represents an exciting opportunity for an accomplished Director – People Culture to design and lead the People Culture function for a highly regarded, values-led Brisbane private school, and support the organisation through a pivotal period of evolution and change.
Reporting to the Principal and working as an integral member of the Leadership Team, you will collectively shape a contemporary, high-performing and sustainable organisation.
This is a role with genuine breadth and influence.
You will have the opportunity to review what exists, understand what great looks like, and build the frameworks, systems, practices and capability needed for the future.
The opportunity A major priority will be supporting the organisation to embrace and embed change, bringing leaders and employees on the journey while progressively building best practice across the entire employee lifecycle.
This will require you to: Develop and deliver a contemporary People Culture strategy aligned with organisational priorities.
Partner with the Leadership Team to successfully lead, communicate and embed organisational change.
Review and strengthen HR frameworks, policies, processes, systems and governance, creating a consistent and contemporary P C function.
Lead workforce planning, organisational design, talent, succession and capability development.
Build leadership capability through practical coaching,
development and performance frameworks.
Strengthen recruitment, onboarding, employer brand, engagement, recognition and the overall employee experience.
Provide trusted, pragmatic advice across employee and industrial relations, performance and complex people matters.
Develop meaningful workforce insights and dashboards to support better decision-making.
Champion wellbeing, inclusion, accountability and a positive, high-performing workplace culture, and Build strong relationships across the organisation and establish P C as a trusted, responsive and highly valued business partner.
Who are we looking for?
Success in this role requires a pragmatic and experienced leader who is equally comfortable moving between strategy, stakeholder engagement, change leadership and the day-to-day realities of HR.
You will bring robust contemporary HR expertise across the employee lifecycle, together with demonstrated experience in organisational change, employee relations, leadership development, workforce planning and culture.
On a personal level, you are a positive and confident leader who builds trust at all levels.
You lead with empathy and are visible, accessible, knowledgeable and professional in your approach.
Experience within education would be advantageous but is not essential.
Of greater importance is your track record of operating in a complex, people-focused environment and your ability to introduce best practice in a way that is practical, considered and fit for purpose.
