Practice Information
This Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service operates a busy multidisciplinary primary health care clinic providing culturally safe, community-focused care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
The practice is supported by multiple GPs, Allied Health professionals and a range of community health programs, creating a genuinely integrated model of care.
The organisation is also an RACGP-accredited GP training site, supporting GP Registrars alongside experienced clinicians.
With primary care, Allied Health and support programs operating from a single location, the practice offers a collaborative environment focused on prevention, early intervention, chronic disease management and improving health outcomes within the community.
Position Description
The Registered Nurse works as part of a multidisciplinary primary health care team, providing high-quality, culturally safe and person-centred nursing care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients.
Working alongside GPs, Aboriginal Health Workers and Allied Health professionals, the role includes health assessments, chronic disease management, wound care, immunisations, medication administration and treatment room procedures.
This position is ideally suited to a Registered Nurse who enjoys the variety and continuity of primary health care and values building meaningful relationships with clients and community.
The role combines hands-on clinical nursing, preventative health, health promotion and coordinated care within a supportive team environment.
Position Requirements
Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent recognised qualification
Demonstrated nursing experience, preferably within primary health care, general practice or a similar clinical environment
Strong clinical assessment, communication and documentation skills
Experience or confidence in chronic disease management, health assessments, wound care and clinical procedures
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
Understanding of, or willingness to develop knowledge of, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and culturally safe practice
Confidence using clinical systems and technology; experience with Best Practice or similar software is desirable
Nurse Immuniser qualification and/or phlebotomy skills highly regarded
Current C Class Driver Licence
Current First Aid and CPR certification
