We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Partner – People Performance to provide trusted advice and deliver best-practice people outcomes across Racing Victoria Group.
This is a pivotal role within our People Performance team, working in close partnership with the Manager – People Performance and the RVG Senior Management team to deliver our People Performance strategy.
Please note that the position is offered on a full-time maximum term contract concluding on 30 September ****, based at our Flemington head office.
About Us Racing Victoria Group brings together Racing Victoria, Racing.com Media and Thoroughbred Racing Productions to promote and grow thoroughbred racing in Victoria.
About the Role This role is ideal for an experienced HR generalist who enjoys partnering with leaders, solving complex people matters and translating strategy into practical action.
You will support senior leaders across the business, strengthen workforce planning and help deliver high-quality people outcomes across the employee lifecycle.
A key focus of the role will be employee and industrial relations.
Working closely with the Manager – People Performance, you will provide practical advice on workplace issues, support enterprise bargaining activity and help RV and its associated entities manage risk in a changing legislative and industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities You will:
Partner with the Manager – People Performance to implement impactful people management strategies.
Provide timely, practical advice on complex people issues, including investigations, complaints and employee relations matters.
Support enterprise bargaining activity, including preparation, stakeholder engagement, drafting and implementation of agreed outcomes.
Provide proactive guidance and support to the senior leadership team.
Coach and support leaders across workforce planning, performance, remuneration, engagement, organisational development and other key stages of the employee lifecycle.
Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders including the AWU, service providers and industry representatives.
Interpret and apply EBAs, Awards, employment legislation, policies and other industrial instruments.
Develop and educate the business on policies, procedures and statutory requirements that support consistent and compliant decision-making.
Identify and address strategic HR and IR risks affecting RV and the wider industry.
About You We are looking for a commercially astute HR qualified with sound judgement,
strong relationship-building skills and confidence working through complex employee and industrial relations matters.
You'll bring: Demonstrated expertise leading operational HR across the full employee lifecycle.
Strong employee and industrial relations experience, with the ability to provide practical, risk-aware advice in a complex operating environment.
Exposure to enterprise bargaining, including preparation, consultation, negotiation support and implementation.
Experience preparing sensitive employment and industrial relations material, including disciplinary matters and employee complaints.
The ability to interpret and apply EBAs, Awards, employment legislation, policies and procedures.
A proactive approach to identifying and addressing employee relations issues before they escalate.
