Deccan Paradise Restaurant and Grill is seeking an experienced and reliable Cook to join our kitchen team.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about preparing quality food, works well in a fast-paced kitchen environment, and takes pride in maintaining high standards of food preparation and presentation.
About the Role As a Cook, you will support the day-to-day operation of our kitchen, preparing and cooking dishes to a consistently high standard.
You will work closely with the kitchen team to ensure meals are prepared efficiently, safely and in accordance with our recipes and quality expectations.
Key Responsibilities Prepare, cook and present menu items to established recipes and standards Prepare ingredients, including vegetables, meats, sauces, marinades and other food items Assist with the preparation of Indian-style dishes, curries and other menu offerings Monitor food quality, portion sizes and presentation Ensure food is prepared and served efficiently during busy service periods Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen workstations, equipment and storage areas Follow food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety procedures Store ingredients and prepared foods correctly and monitor stock rotation Assist with stock control and minimise food waste Coordinate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth and timely service Clean kitchen equipment,



utensils and food preparation areas as required About You To be successful in this role, you will ideally have: At least 1 year of experience working as a Cook in a restaurant or similar commercial kitchen Have related qualification in at least Certificate IV in Kitchen Management or Commercial Cookery Experience preparing Indian cuisine or a strong understanding of Indian cooking techniques Sound knowledge of food preparation, cooking methods and kitchen operations Good understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements Ability to work efficiently in a busy, fast-paced environment Solid attention to detail and commitment to consistent food quality Good communication and teamwork skills Ability to manage competing priorities during service Reliability, punctuality and a positive approach to work Flexibility to work across a rotating roster, including evenings, weekends and public holidays as required What We Offer This is a great opportunity to join the team at Deccan Paradise Restaurant and Grill and contribute to delivering quality food and a positive dining experience for our customers.
