The opportunity An opportunity has arisen for a suitably experienced and motivated finance skilled to join the Shire of Meekatharra as Coordinator Finance .
Reporting to the Deputy Chief Executive Officer, this key position will coordinate the Shire's day-to-day financial operations and provide guidance and support to the finance team.
The role covers a broad range of functions including financial reporting, accounts payable, rates, payroll, debtors, reconciliations, budgeting and audit support.
This role will suit someone who is hands-on, organised and ready to take greater ownership within a diverse finance environment while contributing to the ongoing improvement of the Shire's financial systems and processes.
The deal Commencing salary of $86,588 per annum , inclusive of the Meekatharra location-based incentive payment.
12% superannuation , plus an additional Shire co-contribution of up to 5% , subject to a matching employee contribution.
Where available and applicable, free Shire housing , furnished or unfurnished, including water and lawn maintenance; or a $300 per fortnight own-accommodation payment where applicable.

About you You have relevant qualifications in accounting, finance, commerce, business administration or a related discipline , or substantial relevant experience.
You have sound experience across financial functions such as financial reporting, accounts payable, rates, payroll, debtors, reconciliations and budgeting .
You have sound knowledge of accounting principles, internal controls and financial reporting requirements .
You can coordinate employees, manage competing priorities and deadlines, and provide practical financial guidance and support.
You have strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills , with excellent attention to detail.
You possess advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience using integrated financial management systems.
Previous local government or public sector finance experience and knowledge of relevant local government legislation will be highly regarded.
