Mechanical Engineering Technologist – Solar Battery Think Solar Pty Ltd — Hawthorn East, VIC Full time, Permanent | $75,000 – $85,000 per year + superannuation | In person About Think Solar Think Solar has been designing and installing renewable energy systems since ****.
With more than 15,000 residential and commercial installations across five states and offices in three, we're a NETCC-accredited retailer delivering solar PV, battery storage and heating/cooling solutions to homes and businesses.

The role We're looking for a Mechanical Engineering Technologist to support our design and installation teams across residential and commercial solar and battery projects.
You'll work between the office and the field – turning site information into system designs, supporting installers through commissioning, and helping us keep quality and safety standards high as we scale.
What you'll do Prepare system designs and specifications for residential, commercial and industrial solar PV and battery installations Produce single-line diagrams, panel schedules, layout and connection drawings in CAD Model system performance and energy yield to optimise design and equipment selection Test and evaluate PV modules, inverters and battery equipment; review product specifications and recommend design changes Carry out structural,
thermal and cost analyses for mounting and system layouts Provide technical support to installation crews during installation, start-up, testing and commissioning Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, inspection checklists and quality/safety standards for installation work Support performance monitoring and post-installation review of completed projects About you Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related engineering discipline Working knowledge of solar PV and battery systems, or a strong interest and the technical foundation to learn quickly Competent in CAD and comfortable with design/simulation software (e.g. PVsyst, SolarEdge Designer or similar) Practical, hands-on approach and willingness to attend sites Clear communicator who can work with installers, electricians and customers Current driver's licence White Card and CEC/SAA accreditation are a plus but not required Why join us Established business with a 15-year track record and a strong project pipeline Exposure to residential, commercial and battery projects from design through to commissioning Supportive, experienced team and genuine progression as the business grows Hawthorn East office, close to public transport How to apply Click Apply and send us your resume and a short cover letter telling us why you're excited about renewable energy.
