Job description: About Us Quality Fuels Co Pty Ltd operates two busy service station and convenience retail sites trading under the BP fuel brand at Edgecliff and Haberfield.
We are seeking an experienced full time Retail Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day management and overall operational performance of both locations.
BP Edgecliff is a high-volume site operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, while BP Haberfield operates approximately6:00 am to 10:00 pm daily.
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the two sites and ensuring consistent standards across staffing, stock control, customer service, financial performance, safety and general retail operations.
The Retail Manager will be responsible for: directing and overseeing the daily retail operations of both BP Edgecliff and BP Haberfield; determining and reviewing product mix, stock levels and customer-service standards; managing stock control, inventory levels and merchandise availability across both locations; coordinating purchasing requirements, supplier arrangements and delivery schedules; monitoring retail pricing, product margins, market conditions and competitor activity; planning and implementing local marketing, promotional and customer-retention initiatives; managing workforce requirements, including recruitment, induction, rostering, training and supervision of staff; ensuring appropriate staffing coverage across both sites, including the 24/7 Edgecliff operation; monitoring employee performance, productivity and adherence to company procedures; assisting with preparation and control of site operating budgets; analysing sales, revenue,
margins and operating expenses and identifying opportunities to improve profitability; maintaining and reviewing POS, stock, sales and financial transaction records; investigating inventory discrepancies and implementing appropriate stock-control measures; ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety requirements and service-station operating procedures; monitoring safe practices relating to fuel retailing, hazardous materials and emergency procedures; conducting regular operational and compliance reviews; and implementing improvements to operational efficiency, customer service and overall business performance.
Applicants must have: a relevant AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma, or higher qualification, in retail management, business, management or a closely related field; a minimum of two years of relevant post-qualification experience in retail management, service station management, convenience retail or a comparable retail environment; demonstrated experience managing and supervising staff; experience in staff rostering, training and performance management; sound knowledge of inventory control, purchasing and supplier management; experience monitoring sales, margins, budgets and operational costs; experience using point-of-sale and retail management systems; sound understanding of workplace health and safety requirements; strong organisational, leadership and problem-solving skills; and the ability to manage competing operational priorities across two business locations.
Experience in a service station, convenience retail or other high-volume extended-hours retail workplace will be highly regarded.
