About the Service
Medicare Mental Health Centre (MMHC) Canterbury is an adult mental health centre offering a welcoming, low-stigma entry point for individuals experiencing distress or crisis. The centre delivers short- to medium-term episodes of care, connecting people to ongoing support through service navigation and collaborative care planning.
By adopting the Open Dialogue (OD) framework, Medicare Mental Health Centre Canterbury emphasizes:
Relational, Person-Centred Care: Creating a safe, inclusive environment that reduces stigma and fosters meaningful connections between individuals, their networks, and care providers.
Empowering the people we support: Ensuring the voices of the people we support are central to all decisions about their care, promoting agency and collaboration.
Strengthening Networks: Engaging families, friends, GPs, and community services to build sustainable support systems.
Our service is preparing to move into a larger, purpose‐built centre and will soon operate seven days a week. As we grow, we're seeking team members who can offer flexibility, including weekend and afternoon shifts,
