About the role You will coordinate the day-to-day delivery of carpentry, maintenance and improvement works across Parramatta's parks, playgrounds and public spaces.
This hands-on role combines trade expertise with planning and onsite coordination to help maintain safe, functional and welcoming community spaces We deliver reliable, high-quality services for our community.
You'll be part of a supportive "One Council" team where safety, teamwork and accountability guide how we work.
In this role you will: Lead and support a team of tradespeople to deliver maintenance, construction and improvement programs across parks and public spaces, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
Plan, coordinate and allocate resources, tasks and workloads to meet service standards and operational priorities.
Mentor team members, support skill development and foster a safe, inclusive and high-performing team environment.
Undertake inspections and oversee work practices to ensure assets are maintained safely, efficiently and in line with industry and Council standard What's on offer We offer a competitive salary from $81,327 to $89,563 plus 12% superannuation.
This position will attract allowances in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award ****, including the Adverse Working Conditions Allowance where applicable.

About you We're looking for someone who enjoys leading people, takes pride in quality work and is committed to creating secure, well-maintained public spaces.
You will also bring: Experience leading, coordinating or mentoring teams in a trades, maintenance or operational environment.
Practical carpentry, construction or asset maintenance experience, with the ability to plan work, solve problems and deliver quality outcomes.
A strong commitment to safety, teamwork and customer service.
The ability to build positive working relationships and support others to achieve their best.
To be considered for this role, you must also meet the essential requirements in the Position Description , including the below Qualifications/Licences: Minimum certificate III qualification in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, building and construction and landscape construction relevant to role/area of specialisation.
