Lead and develop a team.We're partnering with a well-established, close-knit accounting firm in Adelaide to recruit an experienced Tax Manager.
This is a role for someone who wants client ownership, complex tax work, and a leadership seat at the table.
You'll take charge of a diverse portfolio and provide tax compliance + proactive planning/structuring advice, while mentoring junior staff and helping shape the firm's tax offering.
What you'll be doing Take ownership of a portfolio of clients as their primary tax adviser and key point of contact Oversee preparation and review of returns across Individuals, Companies, Trusts, Partnerships SMSFs Deliver proactive tax planning, structuring and advisory (not just compliance at lodgement time) Research and advise on complex tax matters with clear written and verbal guidance Manage ATO matters including audits, disputes and general liaison Work closely with business clients, providing tax insights aligned to broader reporting needs Supervise and review the work of junior accountants / intermediate staff Coach and mentor team members, building capability and confidence Keep on top of changes in legislation and translate this into practical advice for clients Contribute to improving internal processes, templates and the firm's overall tax approach About you You're technically strong, commercially minded,



and comfortable being client-facing.
Ideally you'll bring: Solid experience in Australian tax across compliance and advisory Exposure across GST, CGT, FBT and payroll tax Confidence managing competing priorities and deadlines across multiple clients Robust communication skills (you can explain tax clearly to non-accountants) Experience reviewing work and mentoring junior staff Strong problem-solving and research skills for complex matters Experience with Xero, MYOB or similar accounting/tax platforms A proactive mindset—keen to stay ahead of legislative and industry changes Why consider this role?
