Our client is seeking an Intermediate or early Senior Accountant to join their growing Business Advisory team in Melbourne CBD.
This is a great opportunity for someone looking to step up into more end-to-end responsibility, strengthen their technical capability, and gain exposure to advisory work within a supportive mid-tier style environment.
You will work across a collaborative team structure, with opportunities to support and learn from experienced senior staff while also guiding junior accountants.
This role is ideal for someone with solid public practice experience who is ready to take on more responsibility across compliance, client work, and technical tax matters.
The Role You will be responsible for delivering high-quality compliance and advisory services across a diverse SME client base, while also supporting the development and review of junior staff.
Key responsibilities: Prepare and review end-to-end financial statements and income tax returns Support and review work completed by graduates and junior accountants (including offshore support where applicable) Manage core tax compliance matters including Division 7A, Capital Gains Tax,



Fringe Benefits Tax and Goods and Services Tax Assist with business advisory work and value-add client support Provide feedback and guidance to junior team members Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and tax legislation Work closely with senior staff across multiple teams Assist with workflow management and meeting deadlines Contribute to improving processes and team efficiency About You Approximately 3–5 years' experience in Australian public practice Robust foundation in tax compliance and financial reporting Experience preparing financial statements and tax returns Exposure to reviewing junior staff work Strong communication skills and a proactive, team-oriented approach CA or CPA qualified or currently completing Experience with SME clients Exposure to advisory work including CGT, FBT and Division 7A What's On Offer Competitive salary dependent on experience Strong technical development and career progression opportunities Supportive, collaborative team culture Exposure to a broad range of SME clients Opportunity to work closely with senior leaders Inner East Melbourne location Ongoing training and development Genuine opportunity to step into more end-to-end responsibility This is an excellent opportunity for an Intermediate or early Senior Accountant looking to step up into a more technical and advisory-focused role within a supportive Business Advisory team.
