Company Accountant Are you an experienced Company Accountant looking for a role where you can truly own the finance function?
We're seeking an experienced and hands-on Company Accountant to join a successful, family-focused organisation in South Sydney on a 12-month temporary contract , covering a period of parental leave.
This is a genuine stand-alone finance role , giving you ownership across the full finance function for a business of approximately 40 employees.
You'll work closely with the Directors and wider business, overseeing everything from month-end and management reporting through to AP, AR and payroll.
The Role: This is a broad and hands-on Company Accountant position where you'll be responsible for: Managing the month-end close Preparing journals, reconciliations and financial reports Preparing monthly management reporting Managing cash flow and forecasting Managing capital expenditure and financial controls Overseeing AP, AR and Payroll Providing financial analysis and insights to the Directors Maintaining strong financial processes and controls Identifying opportunities to improve finance systems and processes Working alongside an Accounts Administrator who will support the transactional finance function Acting as the key point of contact for all day-to-day finance matters You'll be the go-to person for all things finance, so we're looking for someone who enjoys autonomy, variety and getting into the detail when required.
About You: We're looking for someone who has:



Previous experience as a Company Accountant or in a similar all-round accounting role Experience working within a small to medium-sized business Strong month-end and management reporting experience Solid reconciliation, cash flow and financial control skills Experience across AP, AR and Payroll A hands-on and practical approach Strong communication and stakeholder management skills The ability to work autonomously and take ownership A commercial mindset and willingness to get involved across the business The ability to hit the ground running The Culture You'll be joining a genuinely family-focused organisation with a robust customer-care ethos and a supportive team environment.
