Due to continued business growth, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Metal Fabricator to join our team at our Crestmead facility.
The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, modifying and repairing metal components and light gauge steel framing systems in accordance with engineering drawings, technical specifications and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities: ·Read and interpret engineering drawings, fabrication drawings, plans and technical specifications.
·Mark out, measure and prepare metal materials and components according to drawings and specifications.
·Cut, shape, bend, form and fabricate metal components using appropriate machinery, hand tools and power tools.
·Fabricate and assemble light gauge steel framing components and related metal structures to required dimensions and specifications.
·Perform welding, joining, grinding and finishing of metal components as required.
·Set up and operate fabrication machinery and equipment safely and efficiently.
·Check fabricated components for dimensional accuracy, alignment and compliance with drawings and quality requirements.
·Identify defects and carry out modifications, adjustments and repairs to fabricated components where required.




·Assemble fabricated components using appropriate joining and fastening techniques.
·Inspect completed work to ensure it meets required quality and production standards.
·Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting of fabrication tools and equipment.
·Follow workplace health and safety procedures and ensure machinery, tools and work areas are maintained in a safe and orderly condition.
·Work collaboratively with production, engineering and other team members to meet project specifications, production schedules and delivery requirements.
Skills and Experience: The successful applicant will need to have: ·Relevant trade qualification in metal fabrication, engineering fabrication or a related discipline, i.e. Diploma of Engineering – Trade.
·At least one (1) year work experience as a Metal Fabricator or in a similar fabrication environment.
·Demonstrated ability to read and interpret engineering and fabrication drawings.
·Practical experience in cutting, shaping, forming, assembling and finishing metal components.
·Welding and metal joining experience using appropriate fabrication techniques.
·Experience using fabrication machinery, power tools, hand tools and precision measuring equipment.
·Strong understanding of fabrication tolerances, dimensions and quality requirements.
·Good attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
·Sound understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
·Ability to work independently as well as effectively within a production team.
·Valuable communication, time-management and problem-solving skills.
