The Role
n
As a Human Resources Business Partner, you will be a trusted advisor to people leaders across Council, providing contemporary human resources, employee relations and industrial relations support across a diverse range of workforce matters.
n
Balancing strategic business partnering with hands-on operational delivery, you will navigate complex employee matters, contribute to workforce planning and change initiatives, and drive practical solutions that support high performance, positive employee experience and a strong workplace culture.
n
In this role, you will:
n
n
Partner with people leaders to provide expert HR, employee relations and industrial relations advice across a broad range of people matters.
n
Coach and support to build capability, confidence and effective people management practices.
n
Manage performance and conduct matters, grievances, complaints and workplace investigations.
n
Provide guidance and support on organisational change initiatives, restructures, workforce planning and organisational design activities.
n
Develop, review and improve People & Culture policies, procedures and frameworks to ensure best practice and legislative compliance.
n
Monitor workforce trends, analyse people data and provide insights and recommendations to support informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
n
Lead and contribute to people-focused projects and initiatives that enhance workplace culture, employee experience and organisational performance.

About You
n
You are a trusted HR professional who enjoys partnering with leaders, navigating complex people matters and delivering practical solutions that support organisational success. You build robust relationships and have a people focused approach to workforce challenges and opportunities.
n
You will bring:
n
n
Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Industrial Relations or a related discipline.
n
Demonstrated experience in a senior Human Resources or Human Resources Business Partner role.
n
Strong knowledge of employment legislation, industrial instruments and contemporary HR practices.
n
Proven ability to partner with leaders, influence and advise with confidence and deliver positive people outcomes.
n
Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
n
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage complex workplace issues.
n
Well-developed organisational skills,
attention to detail and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
n

What We Offer
n
n
Permanent full-time – 70 hours per fortnight
n
Salary from $117,****** to $136,****** p.a., plus 12% superannuation (negotiated based on skills & experience)
n
Located in Hurstville CBD – 5 min walk from station
n
