This role is responsible for building and maintaining effective relationships with specialty tenant customers across a portfolio of shopping centres, with a core focus on minimising rental arrears through professional, consistent and productive debt management. Reporting to the Regional Manager and working closely with the Centre Managers, you will be the first point of contact for tenants on all things rent-related — balancing commercial outcomes with genuine care, empathy and resilience.
Key responsibilities
Collecting specialty rent across a portfolio of shopping centres, with potential to expand into national account management
Completing ad hoc reconciliations of tenant account ledgers
Receipting unallocated cash and reviewing the monthly prepayments ledger
Preparing payment-on-time reporting and recommending payment plans or bad debt write-offs where appropriate
Processing and managing reminder letters and acting as first point of contact for all rent enquiries
Signing up tenant customers to direct debit arrangements
Resolving payment enquiries and disputes in line with debt management policy
Driving positive tenant relationships and lifting customer satisfaction (NPS) across the portfolio
About you
Strong debt collection experience gained within a retail or banking environment
Excellent relationship-building and communication skills, comfortable engaging at all levels
A commercially minded, quick-thinking approach with superior negotiation skills
Well-developed numerical skills and strong attention to detail
A tertiary qualification in property, finance or a related business discipline
The ability to lead, motivate and influence indirect reports
High energy, tenacity and resilience, with a genuine passion for problem-solving
Advanced computer literacy across Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
