About the opportunity:
Looking for experienced & enthusiastic Perioperative, Perianaesthesia &/or PACU nurses: Work close to home, improve your work life balance Expanding service in the growing community of the West Light, bright and contemporary theatre complex Werribee Mercy Hospital is seeking experienced and enthusiastic Perioperative Registered Nurses to join our team. As a public hospital servicing the community of the West, we have an exciting growth strategy which will lay the foundation for the future and provide opportunity for professional development and career progression. Our Perioperative department is light, bright & modern consisting of 6 theatres with 12 PACU bays and supported by a modern Central Sterilizing Department.



We provide elective and emergency services for adult and paediatric patients. Our surgical specialties include General Surgery, Colorectal, Urology, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Vascular, Gastroenterology, Orthopaedics & ECT. We also support Endoscopy Services in the Day Procedure Unit, which provides additional opportunity for our perioperative team to further specialise in a dedicated flexible endoscopy environment.
What you'll bring:
Excellent clinical, time management, organizational and communication skills, with the ability to adapt and problem solve.
A compassionate, flexible and positive approach to effective patient care and management.
The ability to nurture friendly, respectful relationships and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
A sound understanding of the recommendations and standards associated with maintaining standard precautions within a perioperative environment.
Current registration with AHPRA.
Current perioperative /or perianaesthesia experience is essential.
Post Graduate Certificate (or higher) in Perioperative /or Perianaesthesia Nursing is highly desirable.
You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:
A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.
Current COVID-19 certificate, proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
