Burke & Wills Joinery is seeking an experienced, practical and people-focused Factory Manager to lead the day-to-day performance of our commercial joinery manufacturing operation in Brisbane.
This isn't a role where you will sit behind a desk all day.
This is a hands-on leadership role with real ownership. You will coordinate production priorities, lead the factory team, maintain safety and quality standards, improve workflow and ensure completed joinery is ready for delivery and installation. The role will suit an experienced joinery skilled who can create structure, solve problems early and build a high-performing factory environment.

What you will be responsible for
Leading daily and weekly factory production, job priorities and workflow.
Allocating work to foremen, cabinet makers, apprentices and factory staff.
Reviewing drawings, specifications, cutting lists, materials and hardware before production.
Coordinating job readiness, production progress, delivery and installation requirements.
Maintaining high standards of workmanship, quality control and presentation.
Leading WHS, housekeeping, machinery safety, PPE and corrective actions.




Monitoring labour, materials, machinery capacity, waste, delays and production risks.
Working closely with project managers, estimators, drafting/design, procurement and installers.
Coaching and guiding the team, setting clear expectations and supporting accountability and development.
Improving production systems, communication, reporting and factory efficiency.
What we are looking for
Strong experience in commercial joinery, cabinetry, shopfitting or a related manufacturing environment.
Previous experience leading a factory, workshop, production team or joinery crew.
Ability to read and interpret plans, shop drawings and technical documentation.
Practical knowledge of joinery materials, hardware and factory machinery, including CNC processes.
Clear leadership, communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
Commitment to safety, quality, teamwork and professional standards.
A cabinet-making or related trade qualification is preferred.
Experience with Cabinet Making, Microvellum or production scheduling systems is advantageous.
A key leadership role with genuine influence over factory performance and growth.
