Project BIM Manager | Studio BIM Leader | Sydney
Mega Recruitment is partnering with a highly regarded architectural practice in Melbourne with a strong reputation for delivering sophisticated Commercial, Mixed-use and Residential projects across Australia.
They are seeking an experienced Project BIM Manager / Studio BIM Leader to join their team and work directly across major projects, supporting Architects, Designers, Associates and project leaders with BIM coordination, Revit delivery and technical problem-solving.
You will be embedded within project teams, working alongside the people delivering the work and helping them use BIM effectively across live projects.
The role is ideal for someone who enjoys being involved in the day-to-day delivery of architecture, understands how complex projects come together and can step into a model, identify issues, support the team and drive better project outcomes.
As Project BIM Manager / Studio BIM Leader, you will act as the key BIM resource across a number of significant projects within the studio. Your focus will be project delivery.
You will work closely with project teams to establish BIM requirements, maintain model quality, coordinate consultant information and provide hands‐on support as projects progress through design, documentation and construction.
You will also help drive consistency and best practice across the studio, but your role will remain closely connected to live projects and the teams delivering them.
You will be responsible for:
Working directly within major project teams as the BIM lead
Supporting Architects, Designers and project leaders with Revit and BIM delivery
Establishing project BIM standards and workflows at project commencement
Managing model setup, coordination and ongoing model health
Supporting teams through design development, documentation and construction
Coordinating architectural models with consultant and contractor models
Identifying BIM, documentation and coordination issues before they become project problems
Troubleshooting complex Revit and modelling issues
Reviewing models and maintaining quality across project teams
Assisting Package Leaders and Architects with model coordination
Managing BIM Execution Plans and project‐specific BIM requirements
Providing guidance on file structures, worksharing, model federation and information exchange
Training and mentoring project teams where required
Helping teams improve efficiency without compromising architectural quality
Working closely with senior project leadership to resolve technical and digital delivery challenges
We're seeking someone with strong BIM knowledge who also understands architecture and project delivery. You need to be comfortable working directly with project teams rather than operating purely at a strategic or systems level.
You will ideally bring:
Demonstrated experience as a Project BIM Manager, BIM Lead, Senior BIM Coordinator or similar
Strong Revit capability — essential
The ability to jump into live project models and assist teams directly
Strong experience supporting architectural teams on complex projects
Experience across Commercial, Mixed-use, Multi-residential or similar building typologies
Strong understanding of architectural documentation and project delivery
Experience establishing and maintaining project BIM standards
Experience preparing and managing BIM Execution Plans
Strong understanding of model health, coordination, clash detection and QA processes
Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud / BIM 360
Navisworks experience highly regarded
Experience coordinating architecture with consultants, engineers and contractors
Strong Australian project experience
Strong knowledge of Australian construction and documentation processes
Excellent problem‐solving capability
Strong communication skills and the confidence to work with project leaders and senior staff
The ability to mentor and support less experienced Revit users
A practical, project‐focused approach to BIM
This role will suit someone who enjoys sitting close to the project. You may already be working as a Project BIM Manager, BIM Lead or Senior BIM Coordinator and want a role where you can have greater influence across both projects and the wider studio.
We are seeking someone who can walk into a project team,
understand how they are working, identify where BIM can improve the process and then help implement practical solutions. You'll be assisting the team, reviewing models, helping resolve coordination problems, troubleshooting Revit issues and ensuring project teams are set up to deliver successfully.
In this role, you will play an important role in building BIM capability across the studio by sharing knowledge, mentoring staff and helping project teams become more confident and efficient.
The projects
You'll be supporting project teams working across:
Commercial buildings
Multi‐residential projects
Complex urban projects
Technically detailed projects progressing through documentation and construction
Experience working on major Australian projects across these sectors will be highly regarded.
While the role is heavily project‐focused, you will also act as a BIM leader within the studio.
You will help ensure project teams are working consistently and effectively, while remaining pragmatic about the different needs of individual projects.
This will include:
Sharing BIM knowledge across the studio
Supporting project leaders in setting up teams correctly
Assisting with Revit standards and templates
Improving workflows where opportunities arise
Supporting junior and intermediate staff
Identifying recurring project issues and helping develop better solutions
Acting as a go‐to person for BIM and Revit‐related project challenges
The key difference is that your leadership will come through project involvement, not from sitting separately from the teams delivering the work.
Company Benefits
Join a highly regarded architectural practice
Work directly across major Commercial, Mixed‐use and Residential projects
Play a central role in live project delivery
Strong project pipeline providing long‐term career stability
Opportunity to work closely with Associates, project leaders and senior management
Genuine influence across BIM delivery within the studio
Supportive and collaborative workplace culture
Flexible working arrangements
Flexible working hours supporting work‐life balance
Ongoing professional development and career progression
Chance to mentor and develop project teams
Competitive salary package based on experience
