The role
Reporting to the Coordinator Town Planning and based in Windsor, the purpose of this position is to manage major and complex Development Applications, take a lead role in Land and Workplace Court proceedings, assist with driving business improvement as well as mentoring and coaching the team to ensure high performance and superior customer experience.
About You
This role will suit a planning professional with extensive experience in the NSW Planning system and a passion to effect change in light of the Ministerial Statement of Expectations and planning reforms. You will work amongst a high preforming team of planning professionals where your proactive attitude and the ability to deal with complex matters through proven written and verbal communication skills will augment the team further in its journey of culture and performance . Using your attention to detail, your judgement and initiative with a solution-based approach to all situations,
you will thrive working with the management team on taking on interesting challenges relating to a broad range of planning issues that confront metropolitan and peri-urban areas, whilst being able to think independently and act pragmatically in prioritising complex tasks in a timely and accurate manner.
Essential Criteria
Tertiary qualifications in Urban Planning or equivalent
Demonstrated extensive experience in dealing with a wide range of complex Development Applications and experience in negotiating directly with applicants to achieve high quality planning outcomes.
Strong analytical and judgment in planning concepts with demonstrated experience in working independently
Demonstrated experience in Land and Environment Court of NSW Practices and Procedures
Highly developed skills in effective communication, report writing skills and oral communication.
Demonstrated experience in business improvement initiatives in the Development Assessment context
Experience in mentoring staff, conflict resolution and negotiation.
The right to live and work in Australia
Class C Drivers Licence
WHS General Construction Work in NSW
Working with Children Check (WWCC)
Successful applicants will be required to undergo background (police) checks and medical declaration
