We are seeking an experienced
Underground Shift Supervisor
to join our Mining team at the Pajingo operation. Reporting directly to the Mine Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring daily production targets are achieved while maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance, and workforce leadership.
This is an chance for a motivated and safety-focused mining professional to lead underground crews, mentor team members, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within a dynamic underground operation.
About the Role
As the Underground Shift Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing underground mining activities, ensuring work is conducted safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Provide daily supervision and leadership to underground mining crews.
Ensure production and development targets are achieved safely each shift.
Conduct workplace inspections and maintain accurate records.
Lead risk assessments and ensure effective controls are implemented.
Manage workforce training and competency requirements.
Supervise contractors working underground, including drilling activities.
Promote a positive safety culture through coaching, communication, and leadership.
Monitor workplace conditions and stop work when safety risks become unacceptable.
Support the development and performance of team members.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, productivity, and cost efficiency.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Previous experience supervising underground mining operations.
Minimum 5 years' underground mining experience
Strong people leadership and crew management skills.
Experience in health, safety, and risk management practices.
Ability to prioritise work, manage competing demands, and make sound decisions.
Competent computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
