About the role
We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to join our team at our Hemmant QLD facility on a full-time basis. This is a strategic leadership position that will play a crucial role in overseeing warehouse operations, managing staff, and ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of goods through our distribution centre. As Warehouse Supervisor, you will be responsible for maintaining productivity, safety standards and service excellence whilst supporting the broader objectives of Hardie Hose.
What you'll be doing
Supervising and coordinating the daily activities of warehouse staff, including receiving, storage, picking, packing and dispatch operations
Monitoring warehouse inventory levels and ensuring accurate stock management and record-keeping
Implementing and maintaining health and safety protocols to create a safe working environment for all team members
Optimising warehouse layouts and processes to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs
Training and mentoring warehouse staff to enhance their skills and performance
Liaising with logistics, sales and customer service teams to ensure timely and accurate order fulfilment
Managing equipment maintenance and ensuring all warehouse machinery is in good working order
Preparing reports on warehouse performance metrics and identifying areas for continuous improvement
Ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures and relevant legislation
What we're looking for
Proven experience in a warehouse supervisory or management role within a distribution or logistics environment
Strong leadership and team management capabilities with the ability to motivate and develop staff
Solid understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management systems and best practices
Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to warehouse operations
Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS) and relevant computer software
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively
A commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence
Valid driver's licence is advantageous
