About the role
When the headlines start moving, you'll already be thinking three steps ahead. Leading a growing team of media specialists, you'll be at the centre of the QBCC's most complex and high-profile matters, helping shape the response before the questions are asked. From investigations, disputes and legislative reform to critical incidents and emerging issues, you'll provide advice to the Commissioner, CEO and senior leaders, navigate sensitive stakeholder relationships and steer the organisation through change with confidence. In a role where judgement, timing and leadership matter, you'll help protect and strengthen the QBCC's reputation across multimedia, government and community channels.
About you
Where others see competing priorities, media scrutiny or organisational change, you see opportunities to influence outcomes, build trust and lead with purpose. An experienced people leader, you've successfully guided teams through change while delivering strategic media, communications or government relations outcomes in complex environments.



You understand how reputation is shaped across multiple channels and know how to balance proactive storytelling with thoughtful risk management. Whether you're advising senior leaders, engaging with government and industry stakeholders or leading your team through a challenging issue, you bring sound judgement, high attention to detail and strong commercial acumen. Experience across digital, social and analytics-driven communications will help you hit the ground running.
