Our product portfolio empowers customers to operate with confidence in challenging environments.Hexagon Mining: Hexagon's Mining division connects measurement and autonomy across surface and underground operations, pushing the boundaries of autonomous technology and data insights to help customers optimize resources and move material safely.The Position: Reporting to the Director of Engineering, we are looking to recruit an Engineering Manager to join our team in Perth, Western Australia.This position will lead technical direction, sign off and drive execution of product engineering requirements, supporting multiple project deliverables.
The role collaborates with Product Management and other functions to understand customer and business problems, and deliver solutions that are valuable, usable, technically sound, maintainable, and supportable.As the Engineering Manager, you will lead, coach and develop a team of engineers, supporting their growth and engagement at Hexagon.
You will play an active role in key people leadership activities across the employee lifecycle, including performance conversations, development planning, onboarding support and team capability building, in partnership with People & Culture.As part of a globally distributed team, this role requires a high level of autonomy and self-direction.

manage priorities, and drive initiatives independently while collaborating across time zones and culturesAbout youWe are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager, Technical Lead with a background in technology product development, who is ready for a role where your expertise and skill will play a pivotal role in the growth of Hexagon MiningIn addition, we are seeking those with the following skills or attributes.Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)Background in Software Engineer product development, with exposure to complex, long lived customer facing technologyBroad technical knowledge across software engineering practises across architecture, design, testing, DevOps and delivery processesPrior experience in people leadership and exposure to full employee lifecycle duties.Proven success in building high performance team cultures both within the team and wider stakeholder groupAbility to build cooperative team cultures while driving accountability, execution and delivery outcomes.Nice to HaveExperience working with hybrid software-hardware systems, e.g. robotics, automotive, industrial automation, etc.Experience working with complex products, legacy systems, hardware and software integration, and/or large-scale technical debt reductionSpecialized technical knowledge in a relevant domain, e.g robotics, automotive, GNSS, optimization, data science, or similar domainsFamiliarity with engineering delivery, quality, and organizational health metricsExperience leading organizational change and scaling engineering teams
