Based in the heart of Melbourne's CBD, the Assistant Manager – Food & Beverage plays a key role in shaping the energy, culture and guest experience at Langlands Restaurant & Bar. This is a dynamic, hands ‐ on leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast ‐ paced environment and has a genuine passion for beverages and exceptional hospitality.
Working closely with the Assistant Director of Food & Beverage, you will help drive the smooth and productive operation of Langlands Restaurant & Bar. You'll be a visible leader on the floor, elevating service standards, championing beverage excellence and coaching the team to confidently upsell and deliver memorable guest experiences
Some of the responsibilities include:




Managing daily food and beverage operations on the floor to ensure smooth, consistent guest experiences
Leading, coaching and developing team members, with a strong focus on beverage knowledge and upselling techniques
Upholding high service standards and driving guest satisfaction
Managing inventory, ordering and supplier relationships
Contributing to menu and beverage program development
Ensuring compliance with health, safety and liquor regulations
Handling guest feedback and service recovery professionally
Qualifications
About you:
5+ years' hospitality experience with proven leadership, ideally in fine dining, luxury hotel or premium restaurant environments
Deep knowledge and genuine passion for food, wine and beverage excellence
WSET Level 3 or CMS certification, plus a current Victorian RSA
Excellent communication and guest ‐ service skills
Advanced wine knowledge, including pairing and tasting, with the ability to train staff in beverage service and upselling
A genuine passion for beverages, wine and creating memorable guest experiences
Highly organised, solutions ‐ focused and effective under pressure
Strong problem ‐ solving skills with experience using POS systems and reporting
