The Role
AESM has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Fire Technician (Projects) to join our growing Projects Team in Victoria.
This role is ideal for a skilled technician with strong fire system installation and project delivery experience who enjoys working on a variety of commercial, industrial and critical infrastructure projects. You will play a key role in the installation, commissioning and delivery of fire detection and alarm systems while working closely with Project Managers, clients and subcontractors to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently and to the highest standard.
Ideally, applicants will have a minimum of 5 years' experience in fire detection installation and project works.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Installation of fire detection, evacuation and warning systems across a variety of sites
Delivery of project works in accordance with project specifications and Australian Standards
Reading and interpreting electrical and fire services drawings
Assisting with commissioning, testing and fault finding of fire systems
Coordinating with project managers, clients and subcontractors to ensure successful project outcomes
Completing project documentation, service reports and compliance records accurately and on time
Maintaining a strong commitment to workplace safety and safe systems of work
Providing technical expertise and support throughout the project lifecycle

About You
The successful applicant will have a strong background in fire system installation, project delivery and technical problem solving, with the ability to work independently and as part of a project team.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 5 years' experience in fire detection installation and project works
A-Grade Electrical Licence (preferred)
Cabling Registration/Licence (preferred)
EWP Licence
Sound understanding of AS 1670.1 and AS 1670.4
Experience installing and commissioning fire detection and alarm systems
Strong understanding of project delivery and construction site requirements
Current Victorian Driver's Licence
Successful applicant required to undertake Police and Working with Children Checks
Highly Desirable Qualifications & Experience
Fire panel programming experience, particularly with:
Ampac
Notifier
Pertronic
Other fire alarm platforms
