About the prospect
Reporting to the Site Services Manager, the role will provide positive leadership to a team of health and safety and medical & emergency professionals, support and advise operational leaders and facilitate the continual improvement of Boss Energy Health and Safety processes and systems across the Honeymoon site. This role is offered as a full time 8:6 FIFO opportunity from Adelaide
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of Boss Energy's Health, Safety & Emergency Management systems across the Honeymoon site.
- Partner with site leaders to manage health and safety risks, ensure compliance, and drive a positive safety culture.
- Oversee incident management, investigations, corrective actions and regulatory reporting.
- Manage site inductions, training programs, competency records and the training matrix.
- Lead and develop the Health & Safety team, including emergency response personnel.
- Coordinate audits, inspections and emergency preparedness programs to ensure system effectiveness and legal compliance.
- Analyse safety performance data and provide insights to support continuous improvement and informed decision-making.
- Manage injury management and return-to-work processes.
- Contribute as a key member of the Honeymoon Leadership Team and act as Registered Mine Manager when required.
About You
- Minimum of a degree or diploma in Health and Safety
- Minimum of 8-10 years relevant experience in the health and safety, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Experience in mining or similar heavy industry.
- ICAM - Incident Lead Investigator program or equivalent
- Detailed technical knowledge of the application of Health and Safety legislative requirements as they apply to mining and heavy industry.
- Experience in development and implementation of workplace health and safety risk management practices for mining, mineral processing or similar heavy industry.
- Knowledge and experience in systems development and application for managing safety data, information, action management and risk.
- Experience in implementation of emergency management in an industrial setting
- Experience in workplace injury management, related case management and return to work practices.
- Knowledge of the current direction of Health and Safety best practice
