Full-Time Relief Driver – Work Across Multiple Yards

Drive when driving is required. Work in the yard or workshop when it isn't.

Height 4 Hire is looking for a reliable and flexible Full-Time Relief Driver to join our team.

This is a wide-ranging role combining relief truck driving with yard and workshop duties. You won't be driving every day. When relief driving is not required, you'll work at one of our yards or workshop, assisting with equipment movements, general yard duties, housekeeping, basic maintenance and other tasks required to support the branch.

You'll work across our Richlands, Northgate and other Southeast Queensland locations, providing relief coverage where required.

Height 4 Hire is Queensland's largest privately owned and operated access equipment hire company, with branches in Richlands, Northgate, Kuluin, Townsville and Cairns.

We specialise in the dry hire of:

- Boom lifts

- Scissor lifts

- Forklifts

- Telehandlers

- Other access equipment

Our transport operation is supported by a modern fleet of company-owned tilt tray trucks.

We employ more than 75 people across Queensland and have built our reputation on safety, reliability, quality equipment and excellent customer service.

About the Role

Reporting to the Transport Manager, this is a hands-on role that provides support across our transport, yard and workshop operations.

Your work will vary depending on the needs of the business.

When driving is required, you will:

- Drive company tilt tray trucks to deliver and collect access equipment

- Safely load, restrain, transport and unload equipment

- Deliver and collect equipment throughout Brisbane and Southeast Queensland

- Complete vehicle pre-starts and required safety checks





- Complete mandatory Take 5 risk assessments

- Secure loads in accordance with company procedures and legislative requirements

- Follow customer site requirements and company WHS procedures

- Provide professional customer service to customers and site personnel

- Complete electronic transport documentation accurately

- Maintain a high standard of truck presentation and housekeeping

When relief driving is not required, you will:

- Assist with general yard operations

- Move and position access equipment around the yard

- Assist workshop staff where required

- Assist with equipment cleaning and preparation

- Carry out general yard housekeeping and maintenance duties

- Assist with loading and unloading equipment

- Help prepare equipment for customer deliveries and collections

- Assist with branch operations as required

- Support other Height 4 Hire locations when required

No two days will necessarily be the same. The successful applicant will need to be comfortable moving between driving, yard and workshop duties depending on operational requirements.

About You

We're looking for someone who is reliable, safety-focused, practical and willing to get involved.

You will ideally have:

- Current HR Licence or higher

- Experience driving heavy vehicles

- Experience operating tilt tray trucks is highly regarded

- A safe driving record and current Traffic History Report

- Good knowledge of Brisbane and Southeast Queensland roads

- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety

- Good communication and customer service skills

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- A flexible attitude and willingness to assist wherever required





- Mechanical aptitude and a practical approach to problem solving

- Physical fitness suitable for manual handling and yard duties

- Good housekeeping standards

- Australian working rights

Experience with access equipment, forklifts or other heavy equipment is advantageous but not essential. Training will be provided to the right person.
