The Opportunity
The City of Maribyrnong is seeking an experienced Corporate Planning and Performance Advisor to join our Corporate Planning and Performance team and support Council's annual planning, monitoring and reporting cycle.
This role will work across the organisation to translate strategic priorities into clear operational plans, meaningful measures and practical actions that support delivery of the Council Plan and broader organisational priorities.
You will provide advice, tools and guidance that help leaders and teams plan with confidence, report with clarity and use performance information to support evidence-based decision-making.
To be successful in this role, you will bring strong analytical and communication skills, sound judgement and a practical, solutions-focused approach. You will be confident building relationships, working collaboratively and turning complex information into clear, actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of Council's corporate planning frameworks, processes and documentation.
- Work with the Coordinator Corporate Planning and Performance to prepare Council's annual Council Plan Action Plan and departmental Business Plans, ensuring alignment with Council's strategic framework and organisational priorities.
- Maintain and coordinate the corporate planning cycle, including business planning, performance reporting, annual reporting and Local Government Performance Reporting Framework processes.
- Prepare high-quality corporate reports, briefings and performance updates that support informed decision-making.
- Develop, review and deliver training, guidance and practical tools to build organisational capability in corporate planning and reporting.
About You
To be considered for this role, you will have the following:
- Proactive and collaborative professional with strong analytical, planning and communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to turn complex information into clear reports and practical advice
- Ability to build effective relationships across the organisation and work confidently with a range of stakeholders
- Ability to manage competing priorities while contributing to continuous improvement in how Council plans, monitors and reports on performance
- No relevant criminal record found in a police check.
