u&u; Recruitment Partners is partnering with a Queensland Government department to recruit a Communications Officer for an initial project-based engagement through to mid-November.
This is an excellent prospect for a communications professional to join a collaborative team and contribute to a range of priority communication initiatives. Working across internal and external audiences, you will develop clear, engaging content, support communication strategies and ensure consistent messaging across a range of print, digital and social channels.
Reporting to a supportive leader, this role will suit a proactive communications professional who can manage competing priorities, work to tight deadlines and confidently engage with a range of stakeholders. Government experience will be highly regarded.
What You'll Be Doing
- Develop clear, engaging content for internal and external audiences across digital, social and print channels;
- Research, write and edit audience-focused communications aligned with brand and Queensland Government guidelines;
- Translate complex information into clear, accessible and engaging communications;
- Plan and deliver communication activities for priority projects with time-critical deadlines;
- Coordinate communications with internal and external stakeholders, including photoshoots, activations and other engagement activities;
- Develop key messages and ensure consistency across communication channels and audiences;
- Manage competing priorities, provide progress updates and support project briefings; and
- Identify and escalate issues that may impact project delivery or departmental reputation.
What You'll Bring
- Demonstrated experience delivering communications across multiple channels and audiences;
- Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills with exceptional attention to detail;
- Ability to simplify complex information and communicate it clearly to diverse audiences;
- Experience independently delivering communications projects or strategies involving multiple stakeholders;
- Contemporary knowledge of digital and social media channels;
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills and a proactive approach to project delivery;
- Ability to manage competing priorities, tight deadlines and executive requests; and
- Previous Queensland Government or broader government experience will be highly regarded.
