Strong youth services are built on safe, evidence-informed practice that keeps young people’s voices at the centre. As Practice and Compliance Lead, you will strengthen the systems, capability and shared accountability that help practitioners deliver meaningful and sustainable outcomes.

The Practice and Compliance Lead strengthens the quality, safety and consistency of Youth Services across Barwon South West. Working alongside service leaders and practitioners, you will translate evidence, sector knowledge and service insights into practical approaches that respond to the needs and experiences of young people. You will build workforce capability, guide continuous improvement and support a culture where strong practice and accountability go hand in hand. Through trusted partnerships, thoughtful analysis and clear practice leadership, you will help Meli deliver integrated services that support young people to navigate complexity and move towards positive, sustainable outcomes.

As a Practice and Compliance Lead, you will:

- Strengthen evidence-informed, person-centred practice that responds to young people’s needs, voices and experiences.
- Build practitioner capability through coaching, targeted learning and practical resources that support consistent practice.
- Guide quality, risk and compliance improvements by turning service data, trends and critical insights into meaningful action.
- Partner with leaders and sector stakeholders to embed contemporary practice and improve outcomes across Youth Services.

Position Details

- Full time, ongoing position
- 1 FTE working 38 hours per week
- $125,021 p/a + Super + Salary Packaging

What We’re Looking For

We value individuals who bring dedication, empathy, and expertise to their roles. To succeed in this position, you will have:

- Bachelor of Social Work, Psychology,



Nursing, Diploma of Welfare Studies, or equivalent qualifications.
- Extensive experience delivering high standard case practice and leadership in the Community Services sector.
- Capacity to provide positive leadership with a focus on support, accountability, and experience within a complex service delivery environment. Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills including report writing to ensure program compliance, positive leadership and quality service.
- Evidence of proficiency in data recording systems specific to the program area
- Understanding of the purpose and expectations of the Victorian Child Safe Standards and demonstrated commitment to contributing to a child safe organization in both practice and culture.
