ROUSSOS Recruitment is partnering with an established South Australian residential builder with a strong reputation for delivering quality homes and developments across Adelaide.
With a healthy pipeline of work and continued growth, the business is seeking an experienced Estimator – Residential to join the team and take ownership of estimating across a range of projects.
This is a hands-on role suited to an Estimator who understands residential construction from the ground up and can confidently price projects from initial concepts through to construction.
You will work closely with the leadership, construction and pre-construction teams, as well as suppliers and subcontractors, to develop accurate and commercially sound estimates. Your experience and ideas will be valued, with the opportunity to contribute to improving estimating processes and overall project outcomes.
The Role
As Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed estimates across residential projects, from preliminary pricing through to final tender and construction.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing detailed estimates, take-offs, BOQs and cost plans for residential projects
- Pricing residential construction projects from initial concepts through to construction
- Estimating residential earthworks, site costs and associated civil works
- Reviewing architectural drawings, engineering documentation and specifications
- Preparing scopes of work and trade packages
- Obtaining, assessing and negotiating supplier and subcontractor quotations
- Managing tender processes and ensuring competitive and accurate pricing
- Identifying cost risks, discrepancies and opportunities for value management
- Preparing variations and maintaining accurate project cost information
- Working closely with construction teams to ensure accurate project handover
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors
- Contributing to improvements in estimating systems, processes and commercial outcomes
The Like Mind
You will be an experienced residential Estimator with a strong understanding of how homes are built and the costs associated with delivering them.
You will ideally bring:
- 3+ years' experience in residential estimating
- Strong knowledge of residential construction methodology, materials and trade packages
- Demonstrated experience estimating residential earthworks and site costs
- Proven ability to complete detailed take-offs, BOQs and cost plans
- Experience pricing projects from plans and specifications through to tender
- Established relationships with residential trades, suppliers and subcontractors
- Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
- The ability to interpret architectural and engineering documentation
- Confidence communicating with construction teams, trades and senior stakeholders
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- A proactive approach and willingness to contribute ideas and improve processes
