We are a large construction company that has a new and exciting prospect for a Workplace Health & Safety Officer to join our team.

We are particularly interested in hearing from people with previous construction experience working on site to lead a large scale project safely to conclusion.

The successful applicant will be part of the team delivering the largest vintage car museum in Australia located in the picturesque Lockyer Valley QLD.

The successful applicant will also be

- Punctual & motivated with a strong work ethic

- Excellent communication and organisation skills

- Work together with the project team, Builder and Site Managers

- Coordinate and implement WHS policies and procedures to ensure safety and compliance

- Ensure they follow all work health & safety protocols

- Incident investigation and improvement recommendations

- Responsible for OHS policy and procedures

- Full function Worker's Compensation and Return to Work co-ordination

- Maintenance of the Safety Management System including training for staff

- Assessing workplace hazards and risks

- Maintaining incident register with incident reports and conducting incident investigations





- Operational tasks including incident investigations, risk assessments and delivering health and safety and environmental training programs.

- Developing and delivering training programs will be an important part of this role as well as auditing, mentoring and influencing at all levels of the business.

- Inducting new staff and contractors

What you'll need to succeed

- Tertiary qualification in Work Health and Safety (Certificate 4 – minimum)

- Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment or equivalent

- Workplace drug and alcohol testing certification

- Experience in workplace rehabilitation & return to work

- Proficient Microsoft suite skills particularly Word, Excel and Outlook

- Excellent oral and written communication skills

- Available for immediate start.
