This is a full-time Monday-to-Friday position, with Saturday work as required. You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing a diverse fleet of trucks and trailers. The role includes scheduled preventative maintenance, fault finding, repairs, breakdown work and general depot maintenance.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance
- Diagnose mechanical and minor electrical faults
- Perform computer diagnostics and fault finding
- Carry out engine, gearbox and clutch repairs
- Complete general repairs and maintenance on trucks and trailers
- Attend roadside breakdowns when required
- Inspect vehicles and identify potential safety or mechanical issues
- Carry out workshop and depot maintenance
- Maintain accurate workshop and maintenance records
- Ensure vehicles are maintained to a high standard and remain compliant
About you
- Trade qualification as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic
- Experience working on heavy vehicles and trailers
- Robust mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Experience with Cummins or equivalent diesel engines
- Experience working on Kenworth, Mack, Western Star, Volvo, DAF, Iveco trucks.
- Roadside breakdown and repair experience
- Current Australian driver's licence — car licence minimum
- Heavy vehicle licence advantageous
