Temporary Vacancy

This position is a fixed term full-time opportunity commencing as soon as possible for a period of five (5) years with the possibility of extensions and/or permanency.

This selection process may be used to fill other similar at level vacancies that arise within twelve (12) months. Applicants deemed suitable but not recommended may be considered for those roles.

About the Role

The District Officer Kalgoorlie is primarily responsible for the management of the Kalgoorlie Boulder Career Fire Station as well as the Kambalda, Coolgardie and Kalgoorlie Volunteer Fire and Rescue Brigades.

The position may also provide direct supervision and operational support to the Area Officer and Station Officer positions.

DFES follows the Australasian Inter-service Incident Management System (AIIMS) with the district officers expected to perform vital functions as a member of the Regional Operations Centre (ROC), Regional Duty Coordinator (RDC) Roster and Regional Level 2 Incident Management Teams during periods of heightened risk or response.

Eligibility To Apply

National Police Certificate

A condition of employment for recent employees of DFES is that a current National Police Certificate (less than 3 months old) is provided prior to commencement.
