Take the lead on the packing floor in a hands-on coordination role within a busy food manufacturing environment.

We are looking for an organised, proactive and confident Production Coordinator – Packing Afternoon Shift to support our Production Management team and help keep our packing operations running efficiently, safely and to the required quality standards.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys being on the factory floor, coordinating people and priorities, solving day-to-day issues and making sure production requirements are delivered.

About the role

Working closely with Production Management and other areas of the factory, you will coordinate the day-to-day activities of the Packing area, ensuring labour, workflow, packaging and production priorities are effectively managed.

- Coordinating labour and workflow across packing lines

- Allocating staff and organising additional labour or overtime when required

- Training and supporting packing team members

- Ensuring breaks, staffing and production priorities are effectively managed

- Ensuring the correct packaging is available and used

- Setting up barcode scanners, vision systems, X-ray and date coding equipment

- Completing stocktakes and preparing pallet dockets

- Issuing and verifying packing process documentation and production checklists

- Conducting production cross-checks and ensuring required documentation is completed and signed off

- Liaising with Cooking, Mixing, Filling and Distribution regarding packing priorities and production shortfalls

- Completing daily Plan versus Actual reporting





- Supporting daily factory shutdown activities

About you

To succeed in this role, you must have experience as an automated Case Packer operator and you will be someone who can confidently coordinate people while remaining calm, practical and approachable in a fast-paced production environment.

- Experience as an automated Case Packer operator

- Experience working in a production or manufacturing workplace

- Strong organisational and planning skills

- The confidence to coordinate staff and production activities

- A proactive approach and the ability to respond quickly when priorities change

- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with people at all levels

- Good numeracy, literacy and computer skills

- The ability to foster teamwork and maintain a positive working environment

- A good understanding of HACCP and GMP principles

- Flexibility to work different shifts and overtime when operationally required

- Supervisory training or relevant leadership experience will be highly regarded

- A forklift license is an advantage but not essential
