About the role

The City of Fremantle is currently seeking to appoint a Team Leader Natural Areas and Urban Forest. You’ll be responsible for leading a team to deliver the City’s operational programs and projects along our coast and river foreshores, bushland and urban forest. You’ll work in a collaborative team environment alongside passionate professionals.

Key responsibilities

- Lead and coordinate the Natural Areas and Urban Forest team to deliver the City's goals and service area objectives.





- Coordinate the delivery of operational programs, management plan implementation, capital and operating projects, to ensure high-quality outcomes across urban forest, natural areas, coast and river.

- Manage financial resources to ensure programs and projects are delivered within budget and aligned to organisational priorities.

- Secure and administer external funding through high-quality grant submissions and compliant acquittals.

- Deliver compliant procurement processes and manage contractor performance to ensure quality, value-for-money outcomes and adherence to contractual requirements.

- Deliver customer focused service by engaging with community, responding to enquiries and using service data to inform and improve outcomes.

About you

- A tertiary qualification in environmental management, conservation or related field.

- Current WA "C" Class Driver's License

- Extensive demonstrated experience and application of technical knowledge and relevant legislation, policies and regulations in managing urban bushland, coastal, riverine and/or similar environmentally sensitive areas, where there are multiple and varied stakeholders.

- Excellent team coordination and leadership skills with demonstrated experience in the supervision and management of staff, establishing goals, instilling a commitment to customer service and delivery of service to high professional standards and probity commensurate with delegated authority.





- Extensive demonstrated experience in program and project planning, delivery and evaluation, including budget preparation, management and monitoring, and demonstrated ability to manage resources, meet changing circumstances and improve services.
