About the role
The Commercial Growth Manager is responsible for generating new accommodation business for the hotel and building strong local commercial relationships. This is a hands-on sales role focused on finding, winning, retaining and growing business from corporate clients, government, construction and infrastructure, project workers, health and insurance, sporting groups, weddings and events, and long-stay and group accommodation.

Key Responsibilities New Business Development • Build a clear target list of local businesses and organisations that generate accommodation demand. • Actively prospect through phone, email, meetings, networking and local market activity. • Develop new corporate, group, project and long-stay accommodation business. • Build relationships with local employers, hospitals, construction companies, event organisers, sporting groups and wedding venues. • Take opportunities from first contact through to confirmed booking. • Follow every genuine opportunity through until it is won, lost or no longer viable
Account Growth & Retention
Build solid relationships with commercial clients. • Understand their current and future accommodation needs. • Encourage repeat and recurring bookings. • Identify opportunities to grow room nights from existing accounts.
• Work with the Hotel Manager to ensure important clients receive the experience promised. • Resolve or escalate issues that may put future business at risk.
Local Market Development
Understand what drives accommodation demand in the local market. • Build relationships with local businesses, tourism organisations, venues and referral partners. • Identify major projects, events and other future demand opportunities. • Represent the hotel at relevant local networking and industry events.
Sales Pipeline & Follow-Through Maintain a simple and accurate sales pipeline showing
• customer • opportunity • estimated value • next action • expected decision date. The focus is on action and follow-through, not reporting for the sake of reporting.
Working With the hotel contractors/team The Hotel Manager remains responsible for, hotel operations, housekeeping, maintenance and property standards.
